What is Fill Gaps with Fitz?

Fill Gaps with Fitz is a Premium action on the bottle entry form and the bottle detail view. Enter a brand and expression, tap the button, and Fitz researches the bottle online and fills in only the fields you left empty — proof, ABV, region, age, distillery, tasting notes, and full production details for whiskey and tequila.

How to use it

1. Start adding or editing a bottle, or open an existing bottle's detail view.
2. Enter both a brand and an expression (both are required).
3. Tap Fill gaps with Fitz and wait a few moments for the research to complete.
4. Review each suggestion: Fitz shows a before/after for every field so you can choose your current value or the Fitz value, or use all / use none. Nothing is overwritten unless you approve it.

Scanning a bottle we don't have yet

If you scan a barcode that isn't in the catalog, tap Find with Fitz. WhiskeyMate asks for a brand and expression, then runs the same deep research and shows you the review sheet.

Why it might not run

• You must enter both a brand and an expression, each at least a couple of letters and not a placeholder.
• If every fillable field already has a value, there's nothing to research and the call is skipped.
• Fill Gaps with Fitz is a Premium feature.
