Personalized for Your Preferences
Customize default settings to streamline your WhiskeyMate experience
Overview
WhiskeyMate is designed to adapt to your personal style. Our Default Setting Management feature lets you define how the app behaves by default—so adding new bottles, creating collections, or viewing stats align perfectly with your own needs. Whether you prefer a certain volume size for new bottles or want your collections in a specific layout, the power is in your hands.
Key Highlights
- Customized Defaults: Choose default volume (e.g., 750 ml), grid vs. list view for collections, or a preferred spirit type—so you don’t have to reselect them every time.
- Seamless Experience: Save time by letting the app auto-fill fields that rarely change for your usage.
- Platform-Wide Consistency: Once set, your preferences apply across the app, maintaining consistency whether you’re adding new bottles or browsing collections.
Platform Details
- iOS: Implemented in version 1.0 (released March 1, 2023).

How to Set Your Preferences
- Go to Profile or Settings: Look for an icon or menu item labeled Profile or Settings in the main navigation.
- Open Default Preferences: You’ll see options like Default Bottle Volume, Default Spirit Type, or Default Collection View.
- Customize & Save: Make your selections and tap Save. The app will now use these settings whenever relevant.
Tips & Best Practices
- Experiment Freely: If your needs change, update your default settings at any time—adapt as your collection grows.
- Reduce Repetitive Actions: Select whichever defaults you typically choose for new bottles or new collections, saving you from constant re-entry.
- Check Platform Sync: If you switch devices frequently (e.g., iOS to Web in the future), ensure your preferences are synced with your account.
- Combine with Premium Features: If you have multiple collections or plan to scan barcodes in bulk, setting up a default spirit type or volume speeds up the process even more.
