Understanding Your Collection’s Overview with Collection Stats

Overview

The Collection Stats View in WhiskeyMate provides a quick, visual overview of your selected collection. From total bottle counts to average ABV and price distributions, you can easily see high-level statistics that help you keep tabs on your whiskey collection.

Key Features

  1. Collection Name: At the top, you’ll see the name of your current collection. In the the iOS Collection View, you can tap or edit it to rename or update the description.
  2. Bottle Count & Unique Bottles: Quickly glance at how many total bottles you have, and how many unique items you’re storing. For example, if you have three identical bottles, that’s three in total bottle count but just one unique bottle.
  3. Average ABV & Proof:
    • Average Proof shows the proof typical of bottles in your collection.
    • Average ABV displays the average percentage of alcohol by volume across all bottles you’ve added.
  4. Collection Value:
    • Shows a dollar estimate based on price entries for your bottles, multiplied by quantity. This feature may be hidden or locked behind additional authentication (or your settings) but can be revealed under certain conditions.
  5. Cheapest & Priciest Bottles: Tells you which items in your collection have the lowest and highest recorded prices. This is handy for quickly spotting any expensive rarities or great-value picks.
  6. Value Change Indications:
    • % Value +/-: Compares your collection’s total price to common or typical aggregated data (if available). On Android, we compute this as (totalValue / avgValue) - 1.0, then multiply by 100 to convert it into a percentage. Positive means your items might be over the typical cost, negative indicates a cheaper set.
    • $ Value +/-: Similar comparison, but displayed directly in dollars.
  7. Missing Price Data:
    • If any bottles don’t have a price entered, you’ll see a small notification. Tap it to fill out missing data and improve your stats!
