Available languages

WhiskeyMate runs in English, Deutsch (German), Español (Spanish), Français (French), Italiano (Italian), Nederlands (Dutch), Português (Brasil), Svenska (Swedish), Русский (Russian), 日本語 (Japanese), 한국어 (Korean), 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese), 繁體中文 (Traditional Chinese), हिन्दी (Hindi) and ខ្មែរ (Khmer). Each language is listed in its own name, so you can find yours even if the app is currently showing a language you don’t read.

On iPhone and iPad

  1. Open your Profile.
  2. Find Preferred Language, just below Currency.
  3. Choose your language, or System Default to follow your device’s language.
  4. Close and reopen WhiskeyMate. iOS applies a new app language at the next launch, and the profile shows a reminder until you do.

On Android

  1. Open your Profile.
  2. Choose a language under Preferred Language, or System Default.

On the web

  1. Sign in at whiskeymate.net and open Preferences.
  2. Choose your language under Language and save.

Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you between iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.

What changes

  • The app: menus, buttons and messages.
  • Fitz: replies in your language and quotes help articles translated into it.
  • Formats: numbers, dates, distances and percentages follow your language’s conventions.
  • The website: help articles, release notes, features and press releases on whiskeymate.net can be read in your language.

Apple TV

The Apple TV app follows your Apple TV’s own language setting (Settings → General → Language) rather than your account preference.

Things that stay as they are

  • Bottle names, distillery names and other catalog data keep their original names.
  • Notes and lists you or other collectors wrote stay in the language they were written in.
