How to Share or Request Access to a WhiskeyMate Collection
Invite others privately — or share a public shelf link (new)
Why share or request access?
Collection sharing lets you invite other people to browse one of your collections. Access is controlled by the collection owner (you decide who gets in).
Two ways to share (2026)
- Private request-access sharing (classic): share a universal link; recipients request access; you approve/deny; optional price visibility per share.
- Public collection sharing (new): toggle a collection public and share a no-login landing page with a value teaser. See How to Share a Collection Publicly (Share Loop).
How private sharing works (high-level)
- Owners share a link: the app generates a universal link under
applinks.whiskeymate.netfor your collection. - Recipients open the link: when a signed-in user opens a shared collection link, WhiskeyMate can create a request entry on that collection (status
requested) so the owner can approve or deny access. - Owner approves: once accepted, the collection appears in the recipient’s Shared Collections experience.
Share your collection privately (Owner)
- Open the collection you want to share.
- Share the link:
- iOS: Private collection link sharing is a Premium feature and requires a display name set in Profile.
- Android: Use Share This Collection from Collection Details.
- Send the link via Messages, email, or any share option.
Approve, reject, or revoke access (Owner controls)
- When someone requests access, their share entry shows status
requested. - You can change a share’s status (for example:
accepted/rejected/revoked). - Optional: toggle whether that share can see price/value data.
Want a public page instead?
