How to View & Edit a Whiskey’s Details in WhiskeyMate (iOS & Android)

Overview

The Whiskey Detail view in WhiskeyMate displays everything you need to know about a specific bottle in your collection—from front and back images to tasting notes, price stats, ABV, and more. Whether you’re on iOS or Android, you can view, edit, and share a bottle’s details all in one place.

Steps to Access the Whiskey Detail

1. Locate the Whiskey: Tap any bottle from your Collection View, Shared Collection View, Whiskey Feed, Search Results, or Wish List to open its detail page.
2. Explore Bottle Photos: You’ll typically see front and back images. Tap a photo (if available) to view it in full screen. You can add or update images if you have them on your device.
3. Review Ratings & Flavor Profile: Scroll to see star ratings, community data, and a flavor profile visualization. Tap or expand the flavor profile if you want to adjust its intensities or add tasting descriptors.
4. Check Bottle Details: View or edit information like:
   • ABV & Proof
   • Brand & Subtitle
   • Vintage & Aged
   • Batch/Barrel & Bottle Number
   • Volume & Price
   • Notes (tasting notes, personal comments, etc.)
   Each field often has an edit button or navigation link that lets you quickly update it.
5. Change Quantity: If your bottle count changes, use the “Increment” or “Decrement” options. If you go below one bottle, the app may ask if you want to remove the bottle entirely from your collection.
6. Sharing & Other Actions:
   • Share Link: Tap the share icon or link to send bottle details to friends via text, email, or social media.
   • Report Content: If any details are incorrect or inappropriate, you can flag them for review.
   • Update Collection: You can move the bottle to another collection or toggle if it’s open or closed, wish-listed, etc.

Troubleshooting & Tips

• Missing Photos? Tap the camera or photo library icon to upload your own.
• No Barcode? You can manually enter details for a bottle without a barcode. Use the brand, subtitle, or any unique ID you prefer.
• Editing Not Saving? Confirm you have an internet connection so changes can sync with the cloud.
• Flavor Profile Adjustment: If you don’t see the option to update intensities, make sure you’ve specified a spirit type (e.g., Whiskey, Rum, etc.).
• Overflowing Collection? Non-Premium users have a limit on the total bottle count. Consider upgrading for unlimited additions and more images.
